What is the Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS®)?

CDCS® is benchmarked at Level 3 and is the professional certification that will enable documentary credit practitioners to demonstrate specialist knowledge and application of the skills required for competent practice. The CDCS® program has been developed in consultation with industry experts to ensure that the certification reflects best practice. It has been developed in partnership by the Institute of Financial Services and the BAFT-IFSA. It is endorsed by the International Chamber of Commerce.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements to undertake the CDCS® examination, however, it is strongly recommended that candidates have a minimum of three years documentary credit experience. Candidates who wish to become Certified and use the professional designation 'CDCS®' must submit a letter of recommendation from an individual in a senior position to verify their experience. Membership in the Institute, BAFT-IFSA or any other organization is not required.
